IUSTV is your home for coverage of the upcoming total solar eclipse on April 8
Bloomington and Monroe County will experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity on April 8, being in the path of totality as a total solar eclipse passes directly over the area. Beginning at 3:04 p.m., the moon will reach its peak coverage over the sun, leaving Bloomington in the dark for roughly four minutes.
The last total solar eclipse to be seen over the United States was in 2017. Monroe County hasn’t been in the path of totality since 1869.
