Teen shot in road rage incident on Interstate 465

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (IUSTV News) — A teenage girl was shot at after reportedly honking her horn at someone who cut her off on I-465.

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine, the 17-year-old honked her horn at a car that cut her off, which prompted someone in the vehicle to fire “multiple shots” at the girl. The teen was not injured, but bullets did enter the car through the windshield and one went through the driver's seat. Sgt. Perrine referred to the incident as a case of road rage.

If you see road rage even if you are not involved, call 911 immediately. 

Sgt. Perrine said last year ISP investigated 56 gunfire incidents on Indianapolis area interstates. This year alone there have been 15 interstate shootings and another 56 incidents of someone pointing or displaying a firearm.

ISP detectives are investigating the incident.
