The IUSTV Sports Department offers students hands on experience in sports broadcasting. Tapings are on Wednesday nights in the state of the art Beckley Studio in the Media School’s Franklin Hall.

There are opportunities to participate as beat reporters, on-air talents, production crew members, and much more.

The sports department produces two studio shows throughout each semester:

Hoosier Sports Nite

Hoosier Sports Nite is a weekly sports news program covering all things sports at IU.

The Toss Up

The Toss Up is a topical show with a rotating set of student panelists who discuss and analyze a specific IU sports team or professional sports league/event each week.

Awards Won

At the 2021 IASB College Competition Awards, Hoosier Sports Nite placed 2nd i n the Television Sports Program category.

Hoosier Sports Nite placed 2nd at the 2018-2019 Pinnacle College Media Awards in the Best Television Sportscast category.

IUSTV Sports reporters swept the Sports Reporting for Student Television category, placing 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, at the SPJ-Indiana “Best in Indiana Journalism” 2018 Contest.
