BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) — The Indiana University Police Department and Bloomington Fire responded to a two-car crash involving an overturned vehicle on Seventeenth Street between Woodlawn Avenue and Fee Lane, Wednesday causing a temporarily closure.
According to Deputy Chief of IUPD Bloomington, Shannon Bunger, officers responded to the area just before 1 p.m. and found one of the cars on it’s roof and another car in the road with front-end damage. An investigation found that one of the cars was turning west out of the athletic lot onto Seventeenth Street, as the other car was approaching.
The driver of the other vehicle swerved to avoid a collision, and instead hit the sidewalk, flipped, and rolled onto it’s roof. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Seventeenth street has since reopened to traffic.
