MONROE COUNTY, Ind. (IUSTV News) – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says the body of a Bloomington man was recovered from Monroe Lake Sunday afternoon, the second in just two days.
First responders were called to the Moore’s Creek area at 2:20 p.m. after witnesses reported a man went underwater and never resurfaced.
The Monroe County Dive Team and conservation officers recovered the body of 66-year-old Paul Bosler a short time later.
DNR officials say the no life jackets were being used.
It is the second body puled from Monroe Lake in two days. On Saturday afternoon, divers recovered the body of 40-year-old Rajesh Kumar, of New York, who also went underwater and never resurfaced.
In April of this year, IU students 19-year-old Siddhant Shah, and 20-year-old Aryan Vaidya drowned while at Monroe Lake. The two were at the lake with friends when they fell beneath the surface while swimming.
