BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) — An IU Notify alert was issued early Saturday morning after officers with the IU Police Department heard gunshots in the area of Dunn Street and 17th Street, according to IU Police and Public Safety Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba.

A text and phone call alert was sent to student phones at 12:50 a.m., telling people to take shelter and lock doors.

Skibba said that IUPD and Bloomington Police responded to the area quickly and found no one with injuries.

A second alert, sent at 1:12 a.m., gave the all clear, saying there was no longer an active threat to the campus community.

No other information was immediately available.

Skibba said that the Bloomington Police is leading the investigation and anyone with information is asked to call police.
