BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – The Indiana University Police Department is searching for a person who reportedly robbed an IU student at gunpoint near the 13th and Fee parking lot early Sunday morning.
IU Police and Public Safety Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba says that a student reported the robbery around 3 a.m. The suspect, who police describe as a 20-year-old mixed-race male with tattoos and short buzz cut, offered to give the victim a ride back to campus following an off-campus party.
The suspect reportedly drove the victim to the parking lot at the 13th Street parking lot where he battered and robbed the victim with a handgun.
The man got away with a cell phone, watch, backpack, shoes, and wallet before fleeing from the area.
IUPD was not able to locate the suspect Sunday, but says that there is no imminent threat to campus.
The victim was treated at Monroe Hospital for minor injuries. IUPD says that the investigation remains open.
