City of Bloomington to begin towing vehicles with six or more unpaid parking citations

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – Vehicles that have six or more unpaid parking tickets from city parking enforcement will soon be subject to being towed and impounded, according to a press release from the City of Bloomington.

City Council passed a new city code last year and it will be implemented on June 12.

If a vehicle is impounded by the city because of the unpaid parking tickets, the vehicle owner must provide proof showing the citations have been paid.

Bloomington Parking Services says that vehicle owners with multiple citations will receive information via email and in the mail on steps to avoid being towed.

In future cases, drivers will now receive a notice when a fifth parking ticket is issued, and the vehicle owner has four unpaid tickets.
