MONROE COUNTY — An area firefighter was killed in an early morning crash Saturday in Monroe County.
The sheriff’s office confirmed Leroy Terrell was driving around 6 a.m. on SR 446 and Dutch Ridge Road when his vehicle left the road and crashed into nearby woods.
The Monroe County Coroner confirmed Terrell died at the scene. Slick road conditions are believed to be the reason for the crash.
Terrell was a Captain and Medical Training Officer at Pleasant Run Fire Department and was a Firefighter/EMT with the Monroe Fire Protection District, Lawrence County Fire Territory, and Ellettsville Fire Department.
