Sare Road closure begins Tuesday

BLOOMINGTON — South Sare Road between East Winston Street and South McCartney Lane will be closed beginning Tuesday.

The closure is expected to last two weeks as crews replace an underground culvert for stormwater drainage improvements. After the project, the street department will repave the road.

The city says crews will try complete the work quickly, using extended hours to minimize disruptions.

“This improvement will help ensure more reliable stormwater management and maintain road integrity over time,” says Caden Swanson, the engineer at CBU managing the project. “While the construction period will be temporarily disruptive, the City appreciates residents’ patience as we work to implement these essential, long-lasting enhancements to the community’s infrastructure.”

The closure is the latest in a growing number of lane and road closures in Bloomington. The city is making improvements and repairs to sections of Third Street on the west side, and in and around downtown.
