MADISON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – The Indiana State Police (ISP) is conducting an investigation after they say a two-car crash involving a fire truck killed a woman in Jefferson County Saturday morning.
It happened near Clifty Hollow Road on Hanover Hill near Madison, Indiana. ISP says at 8:35 a.m. a firetruck with the Hanover Fire Department had responded to the area in clearing dried mud from the roadway.
They believe the fire truck was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Clifty Hollow Road, when it hit a vehicle head-on.
The driver was identified as 44-year-old Terrie Cox of Kentucky. Cox was pronounced dead at the scene.
ISP says they are leading the investigation and awaiting toxicology test results. At this time, police say they don’t think alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Madison is located in far southeastern Indiana about 90 from Bloomington.
