BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – The IU chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity was placed on cease and desist on November 28 for hazing violations, according to the university’s dashboard of organizations on disciplinary status. They were previously on the list in September for alcohol violations.
Cease and desist is an interim measure placed upon certain aspects of chapter operations when there is an immediate threat or ongoing investigation, according to IU’s definitions of disciplinary statuses.
IUSTV news reached out to the university for a comment but has not heard back.
Sigma Phi Epsilon is the second greek house currently on cease and desist for hazing. There are currently eight greek houses on disciplinary status.
