BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – The IU Board of Trustees approved of new rates for on-campus student housing next year.
Standard room and board rate increases for the campuses with housing options are:
- IU Bloomington: 2.69%, or $319
- IU South Bend: 2%, or $252
- IU Southeast: 1%, or $79

IU says that despite the increases for next year, the rates are below the pace of rental inflation in Indiana, which is above six percent.
“These room and board increases will help our campuses handle the university’s increasing costs for labor and food, and will continue to support the rehabilitation and renovation of student housing on our campuses,” said IU treasurer Donald Lukes.
