The IUSTV News Department offers students hands-on experience in broadcast news. Tapings are Tuesday nights in the state-of-the-art Beckley Studio in the Media School’s Franklin Hall.

There are opportunities to participate as reporters, anchors, production crew members, and much more.

Awards and Recognition

At the 2021 IASB College Competition Awards, Hoosier News Source placed 1st and What’s Up Weekly placed 3rd in the Television News Program category. IUSTV News reporters Andrew Lamparski placed 1st in the Television Package category and Noelle Friel placed 3rd in the Television Anchor category.

Hoosier News Source placed 3rd in the Television News Program category at the 2020 IASB College Competition Awards and earned an Honorable Mention at the 2018-2019 Pinnacle College Media Awards in the Best Television Newscast category.
