UPDATE 08/15/24: The driver was identified as Ayana Addisu, 17, a student at Bloomington High School North. The coroner is investigating her death as a suicide.

MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — A person was found dead in a vehicle that had crashed into a Monroe County pond Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
The vehicle was found partially submerged in a pond near North Stonelake Drive, just off the State Road 45/46 Bypass.
Divers with the Monroe County Dive Team found the person already dead in the driver's seat.
The name of the person is being withheld until family is notified. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
