BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – An IU Crime Notice was issued late Friday evening, alerting students to five reported sexual assaults to IUPD. One of the reports was a direct report and the four other reports were filed by a third party.

IUPD received the first report on October 5th and the last was on October 7th, both of this year.

The sexual assaults reportedly occurred starting in mid-July and continued through the beginning of the fall 2022 semester. The reports included both on- and off-campus residences.

One of the reported assaults occurred in Read Hall, and another was reported at Forest. All incidents involved the same suspect and multiple victims.

Two of the cases involved nonconsensual sexual contact while the victim was asleep. Details of the other third-party reports were not provided.

The suspect is known through a common IU program and IUPD.
