BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – For the third consecutive year, Indiana University’s Bloomington campus set a new enrollment record, with 47,527 students calling IU Bloomington home.

Across all state campuses for the university, nearly 22,000 undergraduate and graduate students were admitted to the IU. The Kokomo, South Bend, and Southeast campuses also saw enrollment increases for the 2023-24 academic year.

For Bloomington’s campus specifically, nearly 10-thousand new students were admitted, and with high academic regards. The university says 40% of the incoming class has a 4.0 high school GPA, up 2.5% from last year.

IU also touted an enrollment increase for students of color, with admissions up 5% from last year, making up 30% of the student body.

IU Online, the university’s online program, also saw growth from the past year, with a record of 8,643 students enrolled in the program.

Just over half of all IU students are enrolled in at least one online class. The university says IU online offers 232 degree and certificate programs.

The official fall census for the 2023-24 academic year was held Monday.
